Focal FlowerAs my mom and I started out on our nature hunt walk, we walked by a beautiful garden with this one flower that stuck out in particular amidst all the others. This bright orange flower reminded me of pumpkins and fall, while still maintaining the feeling of summer in its radiant blossom. When taking this photo I had to play with the shutter speed on my camera so it would let in enough light because at first my pictures were too bright, and then they were almost pitch dark so I had to find that middle ground where there was just the right amount of light. The feeling I think this photo conveys is the feeling of transition between summer and fall, when the last flowers are blooming and the pumpkins are ripe for the picking.

Autumn ApplesThis photo was taken while I was out on a walk with my mom. We went out to enjoy the fall weather and to look for some nature to take pictures of. We walked over to the house of a family I babysit for to see their new baby and we noticed that they had this huge apple tree in their backyard. I had never noticed it before because I had never seen it in season. We saw tons of apples on the ground with bees all over them but there were also tons of beautiful apples in the tree. The wind was blowing so it was hard to get the branch to stay still long enough to take a picture without it being blurry. I tried for a while and then found the apples pictured. They, together were heavy enough to resist the wind so they stayed still long enough for me to get this picture of them. The feeling I wanted to convey in this image is one of the joy of fall and everything that comes with apple picking season.

Pretty PoisonThis picture was taken in the woods when my mom and I were on a walk together. I was about to walk by it when I noticed, out of the corner of my eye, this tiny little vine with perfect red leaves on it. I thought it was the cutest little vine so I had to take a photo of it. With this photo, similar to some of the others I took, I had to work on getting the shutter speed just right so the picture wouldn’t be too dark or too light. There were a number of other little vines that I took pictures of along the way. I can’t really explain it I just, for some reason, love little things like that. I think it was its delicate vine and colorful leaves that made me notice it, but I’m so glad I did. I loved taking pictures of the natural beauty all around us and I will definitely do it again sometime.
